Our Story
Fly Me Home was created to honor the memory of LCpl Trevor Richardet and to heal the broken hearts of those who loved him. When asked why he wanted to join the Marine Corps, his response had been that he wanted to make a difference in the world.
Fly Me Home is dedicated to making sure he does.
Trevor enlisted into the United States Marine Corp on Dec 15, 2016 and left for boot camp February 13, 2017 at the age of 17. He was assigned to the Fox Company, Platoon 2129. He successfully completed the Crucible May 4, 2017, becoming a US Marine just two days before his 18th birthday.
After his boot camp graduation on May 12, he was able to come home for his 10-day leave. Timing couldn’t have been any more perfect. While on leave, he was able to attend his high school graduation ceremony where he became the first student at his school to walk across the stage and receive his high school diploma in his dress blues! That was an incredibly proud moment for his family and community.
Upon completion of his MOS schooling at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, just three hours from home, he was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC where he was assigned to the Combat Logistics Battalion 22.
While stationed at Camp Lejeune, he made some buddies and got interested in motorcycles. For his 19th birthday, he bought himself a Kawasaki Ninja that he absolutely adored. He spent the summer completing training courses and learning to ride. He was riding on a sunny Saturday afternoon, September 29, 2018, when an accident occurred that took his life.
